Statins Increase Your Risk Of Diabetes Complications By 250%

| August 13, 2015

You’ve tried eating better. You’re practically wearing yourself out on that treadmill. But your cholesterol levels still won’t budge.

Before you get desperate — before you let some mainstream doc convince you that cholesterol-lowering statins are the solution — there’s an urgent warning you need to know about.

It’s a statin drugs risk I’ve written about recently, but it’s one that needs to be drummed home as much as possible.

A recent study, published in the Journal of General Internal Medicine looked at nearly 26,000 people in the US military service to see how statins affected their diabetes risk.

Keep in mind that these were active-duty and retired military members who, along with their families, were all screened for pre-existing health problems. In other words, they’re among the healthiest population you’ll ever find in medical research.

Shockingly, the results revealed that the moment they popped their first statin drug they set themselves up for a lifetime of diabetes — despite their excellent health.

In fact, patients who took statins increased their risk of diabetes by a shocking 87 per cent!

Adding to that, these patients didn’t just get diabetes, they were also experiencing some of the most dangerous and difficult-to-treat complications of the disease. These statin users were 250 per cent more likely to suffer from diabetes complications including heart disease, nerve damage, hearing loss, blindness and Alzheimer’s, than their counterparts who just said no to the drug.

The massive study also found that users were over 14 per cent more likely to become obese or overweight.

Given what we already know about the side effects of statin drugs, I’m going to go out on a limb and say: With the serious risk of diabetes and diabetes complications added to the already long list of side effects of these drugs… we’re sitting on a time bomb.

While Big Pharma and their minions in the mainstream keep dismissing the link between statin drugs and memory loss, depression, kidney failure, liver dysfunction, muscle pain, fatigue and cataracts (to mention but a few), literally millions of people are destroying their health with a drug they don’t even need to take.

If you really want to work on your heart and keep your cholesterol levels on an even keel, try a heart-healthy eating plan like the delicious Mediterranean diet. And consider trying a safe and natural remedy such as Berberine, niacin, flaxseed oil, olive leaf extract, resveratrol and coenzyme Q10. All of which have all been proven to help control cholesterol without all those dreaded drug side effects.

Here's to keeping your heart strong and healthy
