RED ALERT: Statin Drugs Speed Up The Ageing Process

| October 8, 2015

Here’s something you won’t see in mainstream newspapers: “Cholesterol-lowering statin drugs make regular users become older faster, leaving them open to long-term mental and physical decline, according to disturbing new research.”

If you are a regular reader of the Daily Health and The Cholesterol Truth, this should come as no surprise, because all you need to do is look at the side effects associated with statin drugs — like muscle deterioration, fatigue, memory loss and neurological dysfunction — and join the dots… voilà! What you’ll come up with is the perfect recipe for speeding up the ageing process.

However, apart from the side effects I already mentioned, what this latest research uncovered is that these drugs badly affect stem cells, the internal medical system which repairs damage to our bodies and protects us from muscle and joint pain as well as memory loss.

The researchers treated stem cells with statins under laboratory conditions and found that after just a few weeks these drugs had a dramatic effect: Statins prevented stem cells from performing their main functions, which is to reproduce and replicate other cells in the body to carry out repairs, essential for keeping us disease-free.

The researchers also found that statins prevented stem cells from generating new bone and cartilage… So don’t be surprised if future research links these drugs to arthritis and other bone and joint disorders.

Professor Reza Izadpanah, a stem cell biologist and lead researcher of this latest study, published in the American Journal of Physiology, said: “Our study shows statins may speed up the ageing process. People who use statins as a preventative medicine should think again as our research shows they may have general unwanted effects on the body which could include muscle pain, nerve problems and joint problems.”

She added that considering the adverse effects of these drugs and their association with so many side effects, it is crucial people are fully aware of the risks before they take the treatment.

Prof. Izadpanah’s conclusion adds to a growing number of mainstream experts who are seriously questioning the so-called ‘benefits’ of taking statin drugs… but it’s not just experts who are making noises against these drugs.

Ordinary GPs are beginning to express their concerns about statins too. Doctors like, Malcolm Kendrick, a GP in Macclesfield, Cheshire, who has studied heart health and statins.

He says that statins make many patients feel years older and that “this research reinforces what has long been suspected. The side effects of statins mimic the ageing process.”

He added that he has observed that patients who take statins begin to “slow down”. According to him: “Some [patients] are not affected, for some it is a relatively subtle process, but for many it is a serious side effect and one which disturbingly helps us confirm what we have long suspected.”

It’s astonishing to think that Big Pharma and its mainstream cronies are pushing statins to millions of people across the globe, without disclosing all the risks involved in taking these drugs… and in the process they are creating a population that is ageing much faster than it should be. As a result, people are seeing their health deteriorate from as early as the age of 40 — a time usually associated with being in the prime of your life!

It’s nothing short of criminal!

Here's to keeping your heart strong and healthy
